Reduce your applications of "leave on" glycolic acid per day. Glycolic Acid Facial Cleanser does not count as a "leave on" product, since this is washed off after each use.

1. Example: if using Glycolic Acid Liquid or Cream once a day, apply once every other day.

Stay at this level for 1-2 weeks, then try to return to once a day applications, increasing eventually to twice a day.

1. If using a glycolic acid "leave on" product twice a day, return to one time daily applications. Stay at this level for 1-2 weeks, then eventually increase to twice a day applications.

Alternative Solution
1. Apply the glycolic acid "leave on" product to a wet face.
2. Or mix the glycolic acid product half-and-half with water in the palm of your hand before application.
3. Or mix the glycolic acid product half-and-half with a moisturizer or sun block in the palm of your hand before application.
4. Or, do all of the above.

Stop all glycolic acid products!
1. Wait until your skin returns to what you consider to be normal before returning to your schedule.
2. Start back slower than your original schedule.
3. Example : Use Glycolic Acid Cleanser twice a day for 1-2 weeks before adding in a glycolic acid "leave on" product.
4. Start the glycolic acid "leave on" product once every third day mixed with water, moisturizer or sunblock in the palm of your hand before application. Slowly, stop diluting the glycolic acid “leave on” product until applying straight to the skin each application.
   • After 1-2 weeks apply every other day.
   • After 1-2 weeks apply every day.
   • After 1-2 weeks apply twice daily every other day.
   • After 1-2 weeks apply twice daily every day.
   The above is a “pulse treatment” schedule giving the skin time to recover between applications. When the skin has adjusted to the schedule the treatment is intensified.
