Glycolic Acid Skin Care Will Not?
Preventing Unrealistic Expectations
A glycolic acid program will not remove deep wrinkles or redundant skin. There is a certain point at which the skin cannot return to a smoother or tighter state. At this time the options are a qualified plastic surgeon, or acceptance. The program will soften deep wrinkles, making them appear less sharp or gradated, but cannot eradicate deep lines. Redundant or excess skin may be surgically removed, and the life of the procedure can be prolonged with everyday use of glycolic acid and/or Rx RenovaŽ, Retin-AŽ or AvageŽ by Allergan. Deep, abundant acne or other raised scarring will show an improvement, but have realistic expectations this is only a topical product, not plastic surgery. The program is not a magic potion for continually abused skin, but rather an everyday maintenance program with gradual improvements. It is refreshing to find a product that actually does change the skin and generate compliments on how great you look.
