Self Tanner Instructions
Supplies - self tanner
- exfoliating product
- towel
- cosmetic (wedges) triangle foam sponges found in drug stores
- soap and water
Body and Face Preparations - BODY: exfoliate with AHA/ BHA Face & Body Polish Peter Thomas Roth using manufactures instructions.
- FACE: exfoliate with either AHA/ BHA Face & Body Polish Peter Thomas Roth or Guinot-exfoliating-cream using manufactures instructions. MEN: may also use Guinot Facial Exfoliating Gel Men Skin Care.
- Dry patchy skin will make the Self Tanner look uneven and blotchy.

Thoroughly remove the exfoliating product with water and pat completely dry with your towel.
Self Tan Application - Immediately apply the Self Tanner to large smooth areas of the body or face.
- Stay away from joints, crevices and folds which need to be applied with the triangle sponge.
- Wash you hands with soap, water and the exfoliating product.
- Apply small amounts of the Self Tanner to the thinner end of the triangle sponge. Lightly feather the Self Tanner to your joints, crevices and folds of the skin feathering lightly onto the smoother areas.
- Face: Use the triangle sponge to feather up to the lower eyelash line, down to the upper eye socket, hairline, eyebrows, and sides of nose, corners of the mouth and under the jaw line.
It is better to apply less self tanner than to heavy of an application that may take days to lighten.
Reapplication- Wait 3-4 hours for the color to develop
- Keep applying until the desired color is achieved waiting 3-4 hours between each application
- Best to do procedure at night or on a day with no outside activities that may interfere with the color development or application schedule.
Touch ups: The body is usually done every 3-4 days; face may be touched up daily depending on desired color. If using a glycolic, AHA or retinoid product you will need to touch up more often due to the exfoliation process from these ingredients.
Avoid: Self Tanner coming in contact with clothing, carpets, fabrics, and man made materials i.e. plastic during application or immediately afterward. Avoid getting into eyes discontinue if irritation or rash appear.
