Depigmentation of brown marks or areas is not immediate since bleaching ingredients, like hydroquinone, interfere only with the formation of new melanin at the cell site. The melanocyte cells produces the pigment called melanin giving your skin its natural color; to much melanin production in one area will turn the area darker than the rest of your skin.
You may have to continually use a skin bleaching product to control reoccurring brown marks or periodically reapply for maintenance.
Dark areas should start improving within three weeks if the area has not cleared by three months do not purchase another bleaching product and consult a physician.
IMPORTANT: The brown areas can turn darker as the brown pigment moves toward the surface of the skin. Some bleaching products are “unroofing" or exfoliating the surface of the skin allowing the dark color underneath to become clearly visible to the naked eye as it moves towards the surface. Eventually, this dark color sloughs off the surface of the skin revealing your normal skin tone. Exposure to sunlight or other aggravators will cause repigmentation and should be avoided.
